The Artist

My name is Raquel Tello. I am a physician by day and painter by night. Five years ago I made the very difficult decision to have my stomach removed to prevent a rare form of hereditary gastric cancer. This decision put me on new path, one in which I decided to focus on learning to paint. The painting on the left is a self portrait of me and my stomach Barry from 2024. The painting on the right is of my daughter which was also painted in 2024.
